Day 1: Cusco - Tipon - Pikillacta - Andahuaylillas - Cusco

Let’s start the adventure!!!!
We will pick you up from your hotel at 8 am for a tour in the Southern Valley where you can visit the following sites:

TIPON: Tipon is said to be a royal garden commissioned by Wiracocha. It is one of the most elaborate examples of agricultural terracing created by the Incas. These tall terraces which run up the narrow valley are irrigated by an aqueduct from Pachatusan, the mountain above the site. In addition to the terracing there are also some other structures at Tipon, including baths, a temple complex, canals and aqueducts. Tipon is definitely one of the lesser visited sites in the Cusco area but it is equally as impressive as those in the Sacred Valley. The Tipon Archeological Complex is located 24 km southeast of Cusco.

PIKILLAQTA: Pikillacta is the only pre-Inca site in the Cusco area. This adobe complex was built around 700 to 900 years AD by the Huari Culture, in the area, there is a small Inca site just a short walk from Pikillacta, known as Rumicolca, a travel checkpoint for the Incas.

The complex includes the city itself plus another 23 sets associated with closeness and functionality, and the Muyna Wakarpay lagoon, with a suggestive landscape considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Pikillaqta was built during the heyday of the Wari culture AD 500 or 900 years. This great urban and ceremonial center of almost 2 km long, consists of a citadel surrounded by ramparts and walls up to 7m. in height. There are numerous deposits qolqas or barns and buildings where small stones have been used together with mud.

In some precincts were small idols in turquoise on display at the museum Inca. Pikillaqta stands as a massive set of stone structures concentrated on a hill overlooking the beautiful lagoon of Lucre. Pikillaqta fleas or city, is perhaps the greatest pre-Inca city in the region and its name derives from the presence of numerous compounds of only 4 m square which apparently belonged to a military garrison.

ANDAHUAYLILLAS: Is a cozy village with a warm climate rather benign as a result of being surrounded by mountains and the left bank of the river "Vilcanota" below which is called "Urubamba" lands have a privileged fertility and its people are quiet and friendly.

Here you find the "Sixtine Chapel of Peru", a church that is home to golden altars, paintings and many colored ceilings. The chapel is simple and unassuming on the outside, but on the inside you'll find masterpiece after masterpiece. Also some paintings from famous “Escuela Cuzqueña” can be appreciated.

On the return, we pass by Saylla, a typical Cuzco town where people can enjoy the delicious pork chicharrones, or roasted ginea pig (optional).

At the end, return to Cusco arriving at 2pm approximately at the main plaza
